And now… things about SPRING…
About two weeks after I got back from India, the cherry blossoms here in Vancouver have started to BLOOM!
For me, spring is the new beginning of life. I can see all different kinds of plants growing out leaves, and I can see the flower buds coming out. Everything is full of life, and myself of course, I feel like I have the full power to do many things.
Here are the plants in my front yard, full of life and energy!
I’ve been thinking of harvesting the fresh aloe vera gel from the aloe vera plant that I have at home. Why? Because I want to use it in my new soap~
Before cutting up the aloe vera leaf and process the gel into juice, make sure to remove the aloin (yellow-brown colored compound) by placing it upright in a container. Let the leaf to stay in the position for about 15 mintues, allowing the aloin to drain from the leaf. When it is done, rise it under the water then you can start to cut the leaf and remove the aloe vera gel with a spoon. Process the aloe vera gel into juice using a blender, then store the juice in the refrigerator in a glass container.
Here it is, the new soap I made with the the fresh aloe vera gel I harvested!
I’ve also added mugwort and chamomile extract in this soap recipe~
Avocado, jojoba, and meadowfoam oil are the main oil that I used in this soap, super mild for skin with a fresh and non-greasy feeling. A great piece of soap for both Spring and Summer time.
This loaf of soap is in airing process now, it will be ready in 60 days~
